I use my horse for trail
riding, would he benefit
 from sports massage?

Yes!  Horses that are trail ridden are subjected to uneven
terrain and varied footing, from hard pack to deep mud and
everything in between.  Trail horses often traverse hills,
stand on picket lines or tied to a trailer, ride for extended
periods in a trailer, and have long periods of sustained
exercise.  All of these things can lead to muscle injury and
soreness.  Sports massage is a great way to prevent soft
tissue injuries caused by the uneven terrain and footing trail
riding presents.  Sports massage can also help alleviate the
stiffness and soreness that comes from the horse only
being ridden “on the weekends” or once in a while, and then
ridden for several hours in a day.

Trail riding is often thought of as "easy" and just done to
"relax" but I realize that you are asking a lot of your horse
when you take him out on the trail, and you also expect he
will stay sound for the entire ride.  Massage can help your
horse stay sound; and help make your trail mount a happy
and willing partner when he is asked to go down the trail!
